Sir Ganesh Dutta Memorial College was established in 1979 in the memory of Sir Ganesh Dutta Singh One of the founders of Bihar devoted for Educational Development of the State. The College has been granted permanent affiliation in Arts and Science streams up to Honours level by Govt. of Bihar under Patliputra University, Patna. College is recognized under Section (F) & 12 B of the UGC Act, 1956 by University Grants Commission, New Delhi. Sufficient Infrastructure, laboratory facility for practical work is fully equipped and maintained in the college. Hostel facility for girls is available in College campus. Under dynamic guidance of Governing Body, the College made immense progress in order to achieve the pious goal of promoting the real and meaningful education. The college has been functioning with remarkable success and established its glory in the State and produced First Bihar Topper in Intermediate of Science Examination, 2013. Many students acquired position under Ten in various examinations. Extra curricular activities like Seminars / Workshop / Tour Programmes are organised by the College time to time for Student benefit.
It gives me immense pleasure to welcome all the students of Intermediate and Under-graduate courses to the academic year 2019-2020. As the students enter the portals of college with a new dream or hope I quote Vivekananda who said, ‘Arise awake and step not till the goal is reached.’ It is you who can make your own destiny. I encourage you to develop strength in self- discipline and the capacity to live according to intelligent understanding of what is valuable and true. The students must exhibit exemplary behaviour even outside the college without getting themselves provoked or letting themselves be taken for a ride especially while travelling. Directly or indirectly, knowingly or unknowingly, they should in no way bring disrepute to the college of their study. . I am sure our students will always strive to uphold the dignity of our college. May all your achievements transform you to become a means to restore dignity to the person, to give the undivided reasons for living and to lead each person to the fullness of life.
